
Rambo has gone to a few hot spots over the years, Veitnam, Afganastain, Oregon? but now he is having an effect on an ongoing crisis, the 60 year long civil war in Burma.
According to an ABC News Report, “In Rangoon, the banned Rambo film has become one of the most sought-after DVDs, creating underground buzz among movie fans.”
In a country where hollywood films are ripped before they even come out in theaters, anyone caught with a copy of Rambo is rounded up and sent "away".
And the controlling government has reason for concern.
Another report says,"a paraphrased line from the movie, 'Live for nothing, die for something,' has become a rallying cry within the country and has buoyed the resolve of opponents of the military regime."
Rambo II & III were banned in Vietnam but the new Rambo opened in Hanoi on Friday, could a fictional action hero make a difference?
If not Rambo then who?
