The New York Times has updated its numbers on the Burma disaster. At the present time 22,500 are reported dead with another 40,000 still missing. It is hard to imagine the magnitude of this situation. Apparently the majority of the deaths have come from a 12 foot storm surge.
12 feet... That is how much the sea level will rise when the greenland ice sheet melts.
Warmer seas lead to stronger hurricanes and cyclones.
How many people will have to die before we see that the way we are living is killing us?
100,000...
500,000...
1,000,000...
1,000,000,000...
We will either be the greatest generation or the worst...
